The difference between the top of the tide and the bottom of the tide, the amount of water that moves in and out of an estuary system, varies depending on the moon phase.

Close to the full and new moons we have big tides which get progressively smaller in the neap periods between these moons.

Weekend Conditions:

Conditions on the majority of rivers and creeks are dangerous, I could not encourage putting a boat in these areas this weekend.

Even land based angling can be dangerous with mud foreshores collapsing from floodwaters. The last thing you would want is the ground under you to be washed away and you swimming in floodwater so if you are land based, pick a spot that is safe.

With floodwaters comes a lot of debris including logs, tyres and large pieces of rubbish. A lot of this is submerged just below the surface.
